How to Get Healthy

Are there many steps to follow on how to get healthy? Being healthy is not about some steps you need to follow. It is not about living on some diet plan and making sure that you follow it religiously every single time of the day. It is about eating the right foods in the right amounts, changing your habits to better fit your lifestyle, doing activities that will keep you physically fit and making sure that all of these have a positive impact on your health.

However, getting and staying healthy is also more than just about the things you do and the food you eat. Sometimes, it is also about making the right decisions, having the right mindset and yearning for the right results. It is more than just wanting to be skinny so you can fit in your jeans. If you want to learn how to get healthy, here are some things that you might want to do first:

1. Stop comparing yourself to anyone else. Weight issues are what pushes many people to start being healthy. Some women want to be skinny as this is what society has made them think is beautiful. Beauty is what you think and see it is. No one can force a standard to you. If you believe in yourself and are not after the aesthetic benefits of being healthy, it would still give you more than enough physical, mental and emotional benefits to keep you going for life.

2. Don't be too serious about it. Things go wrong when people start punishing themselves for eating a bit too much when they are on a diet. They then binge and get worse than where they started. If you ate more than what you're supposed to, let yourself think and reflect, and then promise that you wouldn't do it for as long as you could. You're wrong if you think it does you good when you eat less than what you're supposed to. You're even more wrong if you think you're less of a person because you can't discipline yourself to eat right.

3. Think balance. Balance is always good. If you are planning to make yourself full with a lunch dessert, you need to make sure that it is the only sweet treat you'll have for that day. If you are eating a salty dinner, make sure that none of your other meals or snacks is. Carbohydrates, proteins and fats are essential. Instead of counting every calorie you take in, just make sure that you have enough and not too much energy for your daily activities.

There are many easy ways on how to get healthy. However, none of them would be effective if you do not have the time, effort and determination to make "healthy" happen. It helps if you visit your doctor or nutritionist every once in a while, but being healthy would be always more than just about the foods that you eat and the exercises that you do.

The Dream Incubation Experiment

My purpose in researching, writing about and investigating dreams is to help you to become aware of and appreciate the power of your dreams, and to provide you with information on how to use those dreams in a variety of useful ways. I want to inspire you to move from perhaps being an unconscious dreamer to where you're using your dreams for intentional foresight that will lead to personal, psychological and spiritual growth and evolution.

The solution to perplexing and sometimes frustrating problems, as well as everyday solutions to mundane issues, can reliably be resolved in the dreaming mind. Historical records bear witness to humanity's attempts to seek (and receive) guidance, wisdom and solutions through their dreams.

The ancient Sumerians, Egyptians, Greeks, Chinese, Indigenous cultures, and many, many more have dedicated sacred sites, writings and resources to the study and incubation of healing, problem solving, creative and guidance dreams. Even in modern times, dreams have helped solve problems in science, politics, literature, religion and almost every other industry, segment or part of society, as well as with everyday concerns such as health, finance, relationships and so forth.

Inventions as varied as Elias Howe's sewing machine needle-where he dreamt the solution to the problem with the needle to be the placement of the hole at the pointed end-- and J. B. Parkinson's computer-controlled antiaircraft gun, were conceived in dreams. Scholar Herman Hilprecht reported that he dreamt that an Assyrian priest revealed the accurate translation of the stone of Nebuchadnezzar.

Problem Solving

The most common use of dream incubation is to request a solution to a current or continuing problem in your work or home life. These may be along the lines of whether to ask for a raise or make a career change; whether to have a baby or marry your current beau; If now is the right time to take the plunge and buy that little house, or move to another part of the country.

Several research studies have examined different aspects of problem solving and dreams. Wile, in 1934, addressed the incubation issue when he measured how long it took children to self-induce a dream on a desired topic. In 1974, Dement tested 500 undergraduate students by giving them three "brain-teaser" problems to solve while they slept. Morton Schatzman, in the 1980s repeated the Dement experiment, giving brain-teasers to huge numbers of people in England via the mass media.

Dr. Deirdre Barrett, of the Harvard Medical School, Behavioral Medicine Program, conducted a study of dream incubation for problem solving. However, unlike the researchers before her, she explored how subjects would do if they could solve problems of their own choice, rather than predetermined puzzles or problems.

One of the more interesting results of the Barrett study revealed that a solution was usually arrived at by the start of the dream. It didn't appear that the problem was being struggled with throughout the experience. However, in some instances, the solution was presented through subtle hints which built toward more obvious ones until the conscious mind finally "got the message."

Inventive and Scientific Solutions

Inventors, by nature are dreamers; sometimes in a very literal sense. Nikola Tesla, famous inventor of the high-voltage transformer (Tesla coil), for example, often perceived his inventions in dreams and in dream-like mental visions. Tesla reported that he "saw" his inventions as if they were real on the screen of his mind's eye. He claimed that the power of his imagery was such that he could do "experiments in his mind."

Friedrich August Kekulé von Stradonitz was the great chemist who revolutionized the study of chemistry with the discovery of the Benzene molecule. In a dream he was shown an image of a snake biting its own tail and realized that the molecule was a "closed chain."

In 1922, Niels Bohr received the Nobel Prize in physics due to a dream that enlightened him. He was trying to figure out what the structure of an atom was. One evening he fell asleep and in his dreams he saw the nucleus of the atom, with the electrons spinning around it, just like our solar system with the sun and planets. He knew immediately that this was the solution to his problem. Further testing and experiments proved it to be true.

Creative Solutions

Dreams can provide creative insights and solutions as well as practical and mundane ones.

Mary Shelley, who in the company of her famous husband Percy Shelley, Lord Byron, and others had been reading aloud a collection of ghost stories, became part of a plan, suggested by Lord Byron, that they all write ghost stories of their own.

According to Mary Shelley's journal of April 1817, after listening to a long conversation between Byron and Shelley on the speculation that, "Perhaps a corpse would be reanimated," she retired to her bed well where, stimulated by the evening's conversation, was unable to sleep. When finally she did fall into blissful slumber her "imagination, unbidden, possessed and guided me, gifting the successive images that arose in my mind with a vividness far beyond the usual bounds of reverie," she wrote, and thus Frankenstein was born.

Robert Louis Stevenson was influenced by his dreams. He wrote an essay in which he called his dream helpers "the Brownies. Whenever he was stuck for a character, plot or story he'd make a request of his "Brownies" and in the morning he'd have what he needed.

Edgar Allen Poe's personal favourite work was The Lady Ligeia. He was particularly captivated by her eyes, which had met his in a dream. Her eyes were "far larger than the ordinary eyes of our race. They were even fuller than the fullest of the gazelle eyes of the tribe of the valley of the Nourjahad."

Healing Solutions

Like Edgar Cayce, though perhaps not to the same degree, we can all request health related information, advice and even diagnoses. In 2004, I was suffering with terrible headaches daily. I had visited the doctor but, after a cursory examination, he informed me that there was "nothing wrong." Frustrated with his evaluation and flippant attitude, I decided to diagnose the problem myself... with the help of my dreaming mind. The dream I received that night told me that my diet and my anger with a situation in my life at that time were the cause. A change in eating habits and attitude alleviated the headaches.

The Power Of The Mind

Anyone who's experienced a creative breakthrough or insight through their dreams knows that the dreaming mind has a power we don't experience while awake. This power is unfettered by time, space, or self-imposed limitations. It reaches into the endless, boundless and eternal universe of unmanifest potential, where unlimited ideas, inspirations and imaginings lay in wait.

When you incubate or request, a resolution, solution or guidance dream, your sub/unconscious and superconscious mind work in unison to bring you the best solution for you at the present time. In some instances you may have been thinking about a particularly troubling problem for days, weeks or even months, but hadn't been able to resolve the issue. Then, out of the blue, you have a dream that makes everything crystal clear. At other times, you might not have consciously been focused on any particular problem, but you have a dream that provides you with a big "fix" for your life in general. It may be that the issue was smouldering in the back of your mind for quite a while and your dreaming mind finally brought it to the forefront for you to deal with.

Incubation Method

There are tons of resources on how to incubate or request a specific dream. What I'm sharing here is my own personal method. Feel free to adjust it to your liking.

The most important part of dream incubation is setting an intention. The more clearly your intention is articulated, thought or written, the more likely it is that you'll dream the answer to your question, problem or issue.

Clearly define the issue in your conscious mind first. What do you want your dreams to work on? Are you seeking the answer to a technical question or a career decision? Are you inquiring into a health or physical concern? Are you debating a relationship issue? By clearly understanding the problem or concern, you'll better understand the solution given.

If you usually keep a dream journal, write out your question or query on a new page. If you don't have a dream journal, any piece of paper will do. If you can draw an image, add a photograph, sketch the problem, add the additional information.

Once you settle into bed for the night, start thinking about the issue you want your dreams to work on. Repeat the question or statement you wrote out, over and over while you drift off to sleep.

That's all there is to it. You may not get an answer, solution or response the first time you try dream incubation. If this is the case, don't be disheartened. If you keep with it, you will get the answers you need. The most common reason new dreamworkers feel that their efforts yield no results is that they don't recognize that the dream or dreams they receive relate to the problem at hand (or each other). However, what I've found is that once I begin investigating the dream story, I'm surprised to discover how much they do in fact relate to my concerns and that they do indeed offer practical and sound solutions.

Like any new skill, dream incubation takes a little bit of practice and some patients. Once you begin using your dreams to explore and resolve issues, problems and concerns, you'll discover how invaluable the information they offer really is and you'll wonder why you didn't start requesting guidance sooner.

The Experiment

The point of this entire article is to provide the background and reason for an experiment I'm conducting, and to invite you to take part in the research. From October 31, 2012 to December 31, 2012 I'll be requesting information from my dreams on a variety of topics. I will also be attempting to incubate information for others as well.

Every day (or once I receive an answer/response to a dream query) I'll post the pre-dream request or question on the blog at: http://terrygillisdreamanalyst.ca/blog/. I'll then post the dream I receive. If you would like to participate, either by incubating your own questions/queries or by requesting that I incubate an issue for you, post your question or incubation and dream on the blog.

At the end of the eight weeks, I'll write up a report and article on the experiment and our results.

Fresh Kava Root Versus Dried Kava Root

Unless you are fortunate enough to live on or visit one of the many tropical islands on which the beautiful kava plant grows, chances are you will only ever come across dried or pre-prepared kava root products. Although, in a perfect world, it would be possible to ship fresh kava root to people all over the world, the fresh root does not keep well once it has come out of the ground, making it almost completely impossible to ship safely. On the other hand, dried kava root that is powdered will last for over two years, while dried kava root that has been minimally processed will keep for much longer. Therefore, the preferred method of kava exporters is to sell the dried root rather than trying to deal with all of the complications of shipping the root fresh.

Nevertheless, I want to take a moment to extol the many virtues of fresh kava root, in order to ensure that if any of you ever have the opportunity to work with the fresh root you take it without hesitation. First of all, fresh kava root will almost always be more potent than its dried counterpart, and it will also most likely taste sweeter, as well. It can be difficult to know when buying dried kava root how old it really is - some companies likely leave their dried root sitting on shelves for months, even years - but with fresh kava, you can be assured that it was just harvested. Furthermore, the young lateral roots of kava are known to taste much sweeter than the older taproot of the plant, probably due to different alkaloid contents in the lateral and vertical roots of the plant. When you buy the fresh root, you know exactly what type of kava root you are receiving, as well as what strain it is. This extra level of control will allow you to craft the type of kava experience you really want to have. A final benefit of fresh kava root is that traditional Pacific kava ceremonies always utilize fresh roots, so if you want to experience the real spirit of the kava plant, fresh root is definitely the way to go.

If you do not live in a Kava growing area, and if you cannot foresee a future in which you might have the chance to visit one, don't feel discouraged. I still have good news for you. With a little bit of conscious effort, it is absolutely possible to make your dried kava root experience as close to 'fresh' as possible! The most important thing is to find a supplier that offers high quality dried kava that has not been sitting around for too long. Now, no company is going to admit to selling stale kava, so here are some tips for figuring out which kava supplier is the best:

1. Try to buy your kava direct from a farm, if possible. Kava farms sell to retail outlets and kava bars as well as individuals, and therefore tend to have a much higher turnover rate than retailers. Therefore, kava purchased directly from a farm tends to be much fresher. Fortunately, there are plenty of kava farms who will sell directly to you over the internet.

2. The more details a kava seller provides about the kava, the better. Look for mentions of the specific strain that is being used, where the kava is grown, even kavalactone content! There are many types of kava, and this information will help you to discover what types are the most effective for you.

3. Finally, a great way to determine if your batch of dried kava is potent is to notice whether the prepared kava beverage numbs the insides of your mouth and your tongue. The more numbing quality you experience, the more kavalactones are likely to be present in the dried kava.

By using these tips and doing a little research, you will be able to create a dried kava experience that is as close as possible to the fresh kava experience. And if you are ever in a Pacific island region, make a point of searching out some fresh kava root - you won't regret it!

Are You Stressed To The Max? Then Get Help Here!

You should try and keep the stress in your life under control. You can cause yourself serious problems like heart disease, insomnia, muscle aches and depression if you are stressed. If you get enough sleep, you will reduce your stress level, and find it easier to stay in good shape and stay healthy.

While video games and other hobbies can typically be very relaxing, if you find yourself becoming frustrated then you should put it down. You should clear your head and let yourself relax, do not give into stressful feelings or frustration.

Surprisingly, getting better organized can reduce stress. A common cause of stress can be clutter, an inability to find things, or even procrastination. Stay organized; your stress level will decrease when you feel in control.

No matter the source of your stress, you always want to think positively. If you are thinking negatively then things will seem much worse then they really are. Every problem that is eliminated can be quickly replaced by the next one. A positive focus on your life will enable you to live it in a positive and happy way, with stress kept well and truly under control.

Give stress relief tonics a try. Homeopathy could help you reduce your stress. These remedies are absolutely safe and can be very efficient. There are some herbs (Kava is one of them) that have been found to be just as effective as Xanax (alprazolam) in helping people relax and stay calm.

Music can sooth the savage beast that is stress. It is commonly known that music therapy can cut down on stress if you find the music relaxing and soothing. So choose music that works well to relieve your own stress, because what might be soothing to one person, might not be the right stress reliever for you. Listening to music you like will cause your brain to release serotonin, which will make you feel calm and happier.

The first step to getting a grip on your stress level is to take an analytical look at how you could improve your methods of dealing with it. Try recording your responses to stressful situations over a period of a month or so. Looking closely at your reactions to times of high stress can help you to self-analyze whether you are using appropriate means of fighting it. If the way you handled stress only made things worse, you can seek new ways to manage stress in your life.

When someone is giving you directions or instructions, you will be less stressed later if you pay close attention the first time. In order to relieve stress, always be sure to listen attentively when instructions are given. For example, when your doctor gives you advice, or when a teacher lectures in class, paying attention will help you retain important information.

Music is a great stress reliever. In fact, the effect of music is powerful and strong. Science has shown that listening to music has a calming effect on the body. People's musical tastes differ widely; you need to figure out what sort of music works to calm you down and help you relax.

Calming scents can melt the stress away. Smelling soothing things, such as peppermint, rose, thyme, lavender, bay leaves, and eucalyptus, will relax you. In a small container you can add some popular scented oils and a bit of rock salt to create your own aromatherapy. Whenever stress starts to overtake you, just smell one of your favorite aromas.

Working for a living is hard enough without having to be stressed out while doing it. Stress causes many problems such as weight gain, premature aging, and can damage your relationships. Take the advice you've learned here and put it into practice to battle your stress successfully! Providing quality counselling articles, hynotherapy writings and other mind help resources online.

Your Ultimate Guide To Reiki

Reiki is a technique developed by a Buddhist monk in 1922. It is widely accepted as a method for therapy, stress reduction, relaxation and some professionals even consider it to be a form of medicine.

How Does It Work?

Reiki is based on the concept of an unseen energy force constantly flowing through and around us that actually causes us to be alive. If we have a high amount of this energy force, we will become healthy and happy. On the other hand, a low amount of this life force energy is considered to actually cause sickness, depression and general unhappiness.

Practitioners believe that reiki works through transferring this universal energy through the palms in their hands. Effectively, they are channeling this positive energy through their hands and onto the person.

This technique is actually surprisingly simple to teach. A student could simply attend a class with a master known as an "attunement". During this class, the master would pass the ability to access an unlimited amount of life force onto the student. In theory, this would then grant access to happiness and general wellbeing.

Types Of Reiki

There are roughly 25 different types of reiki, the following are the most widely used and important.

Karuna- The effect of Karuna can actually be transferred through chanting and is often used to help overcome addictions.

Usui- This was named after the founder of reiki, Mikao Usai. This was the first type of Reiki, the rest have branched from this.

Tibetan- Using many of the techniques used in Usai reiki, it is considered to be a very powerful Tibeten method for attunement.

Rainbow- This works by using the 7 main chakras within your body.to help repair the physical and mental aspects.

Gendai- Gendai can be translated into modern. The creator brought a strong Buddhist aspect to the original teachings.

Practitioners of reiki believe the only reason we are alive is due to the life force flowing inside us. They believe that it is flowing through us via the pathways known as nadis, meridians and chakras, as well as an aura surrounding us. This life force is used to feed out organs and major cells inside our bodies. If there is a lack of life force flowing to these areas, this is when we will experience bad health. They use reiki during these circumstances, in order to increase the levels of positive life force and increase happiness and health as a result.

How Stress Affects the Body, And Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Stress is an IBS trigger, but it also causes many other problems. It can have a profound effect on your mental and physical health. Here are some facts that might surprise you.

Human beings encounter stress as a daily part of life. Every change in routine that requires us to react causes a little bit of stress. We respond with ingrained responses. Some are inherited; others are learned.

Little bits of stress are beneficial; they keep us alert and ready to respond to the difficulties of life. In fact, the only people who don't experience stress are dead. However, prolonged periods of stress can have a devastating effect on your health, with symptoms such as:

• Colon spasms in people with IBS
• Upset stomach
• Altered digestive activity
• Headaches
• Sleep disturbances
• Elevated blood pressure
• Chest pain
• Tachycardia
• Irregular heartbeat
• Heart attacks
• Trembling or shakiness
• Decreased productivity at work
• Obesity
• Diabetes
• Loss of sex drive
• Menstrual irregularities
• Female hair loss
• Chronic fatigue
• Muscle pains
• Skin disorders
• Recurring infections
• Anxiety and panic attacks
• Shortness of breath
• Memory problems
• Depression
• Mental breakdown
• Substance abuse
• Abnormal immune system response

Stress also exacerbates conditions such as restless leg syndrome.

Relatively minor stress affects many people with irritable bowel syndrome. IBS itself causes stress, especially if it is accompanied by a lot of pain; this creates a self-feeding, vicious cycle that is often hard to break. It may affect close friends and family; they watch their loved one suffering, which tends to perpetuate the cycle as everyone becomes tense and anxious.

There is a huge benefit to be gained by removing or reducing the negative stress in your life.

Here are a few suggestions:

• Avoid watching the news for a few days. Opt for comedies or upbeat musicals instead.

• Take a day off if you work in a stressful environment.

• Hunt for funny photos at images.google.com. Try searches like:

- smiling cat

- laughing moose

- laughing

- smiling dog

Laughter stimulates the immune system and boosts infection-fighting processes. It also decreases pain and provides a distraction from stressful situations.

• Associate with funny people who make you laugh.

• Try deep breathing, meditation, or yoga.

• Avoid brooding about your condition. Focus your attention on other things instead.

No I Can Not Forgive Them

As you may know, I do healing work with individuals. One of the most difficult issues to come across when in a session is forgiveness. The person I am working with tells me about something in their past that happened to them that was horrific. As they tell me, I ask them, "Can you forgive the person who did this to you?" And when they, who came to me for healing, answer usually with tears rolling from their eyes, "No, I can not forgive them!" That is one of the most powerful moments, that they let slip right by them. I always hope for and do get different answers, such as, "It will be difficult, but I will try." Or "Yes, I am ready to forgive them." With the last two answers, the healing session proceeds, and the healing energy continues.

I have asked myself, why does someone who is looking for healing, hold on to such powerful anger? I have come to a few conclusions from my observations. One, the pain they hold, they choose to hold. The pain defines them. When they think of the situation, they seem to be unable to stay in the now moment where they are safe. Their mind takes them right back to the horror as if it is happening right at that moment. So they relive again, again and again. It is helpful to take my client through exercises that help their mind come into the now moment. Now, right now, everything is perfect. Now, right now, everything is beautiful. When you think of the future there is worry, when you think of the past there is anger and regret. Stay in the now, as no one is traumatizing you right now.

Another reason to hang on to the anger is to continue to play the victim role. BLAME!!! Blame is such a low frequency to allow yourself to reside in. Those who play the victim role are difficult to be around and do not realize how they hurt themselves with this point of view. Things happen, people are mean, rude, and cruel. They often do things for no reason other than they can to feel as though they have power. To allow yourself to still be victimized by their actions is allowing them to continue to have power over you.

We all incarnate here with different lessons to learn. This is to evolve our soul. To learn, to grow to expand who and what we are. If you have done something to harm another, forgive yourself. Work on mot being that person anymore. If someone has harmed you, no matter what they did, forgive them. It will empower you, it will free you. Best of all, that will be a lesson learned as the universe has a way of repeating these lessons until you learn them.

How to Approach an Energy Clearing (or Energy Healing) Session

We all sat in that classroom as little kids.

We learned that "energy cannot be created or destroyed." We also learned that it can change its form of expression. This is a lesson we can call upon now and use it every day of our lives as we consider energy and healing. Of course, in that science classroom, they talked to us about light and heat, etc. We are going to apply this principle in a way that transforms pain into joy, misery into ecstasy, and anger into love.

Recycling Energy

If you've ever had a garden, you might have found that the energy of the previous year's waste could be turned into the next year's nourishment through a method of composting. And recycling in general has become a major part of our culture and a household word.

As you ponder these methods of taking things that are old and unwanted, and putting them through a process of transformation to bring forward something helpful, useful, and advantageous, you begin to see into the power of the energy clearing session. This is what those who are called "energy healers" facilitate.

The Value Hidden Within Pain

Every pain, misfortune, or mode of suffering, represents a field of conflicted energy. When that field is harmonized, when it is restored to its original state of clear energy, the power locked within the conflict is released and becomes available. That energy can then nourish the soul and move you forward toward the desires of your heart. You may experience this as a feeling of lightness, happiness, inspiration, or a burst of creativity. These are the markings of a spiritual healing.

The Past Lives Within the Now

Energy patterns can trace immeasurably back in time. You can see them running through distant events of your personal history, woven though your ancestral lines, and echoed in the remnants of past lives. Whether or not you believe that you have had past incarnations matters little because it is your current vibration that is being cleared. You may hear this described differently in the context of different energy healing techniques, and that is why it is helpful to understand that the past lives within the now. And this is where it must be harmonized in order to free your now and roll out the red carpet for your future (which also lives in your now).

Pains Gone, Relationships Restored, Happiness Flowing

Regardless of the reason you seek energy clearing, whether it is a body issue, a financial worry, a painful relationship, or anything else, it is best to come to the session with a willingness to let go of your problem and to allow it be transformed into something wonderful. With this spirit of openness, and an honoring of your essence, the energy clearing session can amaze you with the power of its results.

You can experience an energy clearing session first hand at no charge. Bring one issue to the call. It can be about your body, emotions, relationships, finances, or anything else that is causing you pain. Be prepared to let it go and have it transformed into something wonderful in your life. Like No Time Has Passed

One of the major factors for health and longevity is social connection.

Because we are social animals, having connections with other people is crucial to our emotional well-being, but it also positively affects our physical health.

One of the best things you can do for your health is to build and maintain strong social networks.

Interestingly, the online social networking that has taken the world by storm the past few years doesn't have the same positive correlation to health as face-to-face connections.

This was brought into clear focus for me last week, when a friend from college and her family vacationed at a beach near my home. We made arrangements to spend the morning together, visiting and soaking up the sun's rays.

As my husband I drove to where she was staying, I thought about some of the experiences and escapades we have shared over the years, some as far back as 29 years ago!

And as we got closer to her place, I wondered what we'd talk about all morning. Waxing nostalgic is fun for awhile, but I hoped that we still had enough in common to fill a morning.

Our lives have taken different paths: she is a skilled and compassionate nurse with a beautiful 10-year-old boy, while my life took a less traditional trajectory, after living overseas, working in complementary therapy, and watching over our 11-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, Kizzy.

Would our history be enough to sustain our friendship now?

I needn't have worried. When we started talking, it was as if no time had passed at all. She is still the person I rely on to tell it to me straight, whatever the situation, and I count on her common-sense, compassionate approach to life to help guide me when I get lost.

And I can count on her to eat chocolate with me, any time, day or night!

It occurred to me on the way home that this is the essence of social connection that is so important to our well-being. Human beings are not "wired" to be connected via a computer screen. We are at our best when we are face-to-face with others, holding space, and really being present for one another.

It doesn't matter how much time has gone by - it's staying connected in the present moment that makes us whole.

That's a great prescription for health and wellness. That, and the occasional chocolate bar with an old friend.

If you're interested in building some new social connections, think about joining us for the upcoming Reflections in Health Study Circle, The Foods We Eat, http://www.OasisCST.com/food. It begins in October, but you can register now.

Three Relaxation Techniques

Here are three relaxation techniques that will help you work with your breath and relax your body. It involves releasing your breath and giving it a rhythm. This will affect your physiology and your emotions.

Free Breathing Meditation by Deepak Chopra
Sit comfortably. Let your arms rest along your body or on your lap. Close your eyes, breathe easily and freely. Focus on your breath. Concentrate on how the air enters your body through the nose and flows down into the lungs. Breathe normally, not too deep. Don't hold your breath for too long. When you exhale, pay attention to how the air flows from the lungs through your nose. Let everything happen naturally. Your breath flows freely and your attention follows it. When your breathing becomes free, make it even freer. Breathe rhythmically in a way that is best for your body. By focusing all your attention on the breath, you naturally enter the state of relaxation. With each breath your relaxation becomes deeper and your mind calmer. If you practice this meditation regularly, you will have more energy and vitality.

Deep Breathing
When you focus on the breath, you let your body relax. Through deep breathing you improve the operation of your lymphatic system, and thus cleanse your body.
Lie on your back and let your body relax. You can use any relaxation technique you like. Start breathing slowly through your nose. Fill the bottom part of the lungs first, then the middle and the upper part. Make sure that you do it slowly, for 8-10 seconds. Hold your breath for 1-2 seconds and then quietly and easily relax the muscles of the chest allowing the air to leave your lungs. Next, wait a few seconds and repeat the cycle.

If you experience dizziness, slow down your breath.

Progressive Relaxation
Lie down on your back and close your eyes. Focus your attention on your feet. Feel their weight. Relax them consciously and let them sink into the bed. Start with toes and move toward the ankles.

Next, focus on your knees. Feel their weight. Relax them consciously and feel them sink into the bed.

Focus on your thighs. Feel their weight. Relax them consciously and feel them sink into the bed.

Focus on your buttocks. Feel their weight. Relax them consciously and feel them sink into the bed.

Focus on your abdomen and chest. Feel your breath. Let them relax. Start to breathe slowly, deeply and feel the abdomen and chest sink into the bed.

Focus on your hands. Feel their weight. Relax them consciously and feel them sink into the bed.

Focus on your forearms. Feel their weight. Relax them consciously and feel them sink into the bed.

Focus on your arms and shoulders. Feel their weight. Relax them consciously and feel them sink into the bed.

Focus on your neck. Feel its weight. Relax it consciously and feel it sink into the bed.

Focus on your head. Feel its weight. Relax it consciously and feel it sink into the bed.

Focus on your mouth and jaw. Relax your muscles. Pay particular attention to the muscles of the jaw, if it is clamped, open it gently. Let it relax.

Think of your eyes. Feel the muscle tension in your eyes and around them. Relax all the muscles in your eyes and around them. Relax your eyes.

Feel your cheeks and forehead. Relax them consciously and release any muscle tension.

Now, mentally scan your whole body. If there is any place in your body where you feel tension, relax it and let it sink into the bed.

Top 7 Benefits of Laughter

Everybody loves a good laugh. It helps us feel good and makes every moment worth remembering. But laughter serves us more than just a good dose of happiness. It actually has long term benefits that prove to be essential in achieving a healthy mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Here are the top seven benefits of laughter.

Lowers blood pressure. Japanese researchers have found that laughter and other elating activities like playing music can help expand blood vessels and lower a person's blood pressure. A lower blood pressure means lower risk of death from heart disease or stroke.

Gives an internal workout. Laughter can be as beneficial as having a workout. It can have effects in the body that is similar to exercise such as toned diaphragm and abdominal muscles, improved cholesterol and blood pressure levels, decreased stress hormones, strengthened immune system and regulated appetite. Overall, the body's response to repetitive laughter is similar to repetitive exercise.

Reduces stress. Laughter reduces stress by acting as a positive outlet or emotional release. It lowers stress hormones like cortisol, epinephrine and dopamine and is replaced by health-enhancing hormones like endorphins and neurotransmitters. It also serves as a positive distraction to stressful situations and negative emotions such as anger and depression.

Improved immune system. Stress was proven to weaken the immune system which makes a person more prone to sickness and diseases. But since laughter can reduce stress levels, then it is true that laughter helps the immune system protect the body from infections and reduces the risk of contracting colds.

Increases brain functions. A study in John Hopkins University Medical School shows that laughter and humor increases memory and learning which led to higher test scores. Since laughter helps in relaxing the body and reducing stress it becomes a big contributor to improved mental alertness and creativity.

Relieves pain. Laughter serves as a natural pain killer by becoming a positive distraction thus taking your mind off the pain. It also triggers the release of endorphins, the chemicals in the brain usually found during exercise that makes us feel good.

Social benefits. Laughter also has its social benefits by helping us connect with other people. Just like smiling and kindness, laughter is contagious which helps spread positivity and brings people closer. Laughter can also improve social interactions in stressful environments such as the workplace which reduces stress and improves productivity.

Never underestimate the power of laughter. Like exercise and healthy diet, it is a natural way of making and keeping yourself healthy both mentally, physically and spiritually.

"A day without laughter is a day wasted."
~Charlie Chaplin

What Is the Rational Basis of Mental Illnesses?

In the article "What is the origin of Wants and Desires?" it has been pointed out that many of our motivations or wants and desires are beyond biological needs and can only be explained on the basis of universal instinct to exist, evolve and diversify.

But even that is not enough. Besides being a part of a universal scheme, we all exist as individuals or discrete entities having unitary organization, in a state of dynamic equilibrium aimed at keeping our identity and integrity and meeting our goals and objectives. Besides this, a desire for self-expression and self-realization lurks deep inside every individual inspired by the individuality. All the above, collectively, constitutes individuality or personality of the individual and is the rational basis of inter-individual differences.

Universal instincts coupled with personality or individuality collectively approximate what Sigmund Freud has referred to as 'Id'. But to be effective, this 'Id' has to be duly supported by appropriate structure and function i.e. brain and mind. Mind is defined as the function of brain. But brain and mind have their origin in genome and all the necessary cellular and biochemical machinery that genome creates through regulated gene expression. Therefore, all our behavior, sentiments and intellect have a material basis as detailed above and any malfunctioning of any of the components directly or indirectly involved in keeping the mental equilibrium can precipitate mental illnesses. Neuro-physiologists are progressively discovering material/biochemical correlations of mental functioning.

Since, in order to satisfy the universal instinct to exist, everything has to exist in a state of dynamic equilibrium having internal as well as external harmony so that all the inherent conflicts and contradictions (Dialectical materialism) are in a state of effective resolution. This need for harmony inspires ethics, morals, laws (even manmade), a sense of justice, a sense of fair and unfair or a sense of right and wrong. Even need for an order and system is at least in part determined by this universal Law of Harmony. Much of the religion is inspired by the need to keep harmony with in individuals as well as with in human society. This is what has corresponds to Super-ego of Sigmund Freud.

To keep harmony and to meet individual satisfaction a large number of conditions with inherent contradictions and conflicts have to be satisfied all the time. Inherent contradictions and conflicts often demand intellectual resolution which may require at times resetting the fulcrum or state of dynamic equilibrium. This may be done consciously in humans but in all others it is done subconsciously. This is what corresponds to 'Ego' of Sigmund Freud.

Sigmund Freud for the first time recognized role of subconscious in determination of human behavior and causation of mental illnesses and even devised Psychoanalysis as the technique to unearth subconscious phenomena. But Sigmund Freud failed to appreciate true significance and scope of subconscious in nature and universe. Further he failed to appreciate that even in the domain of Psychology, most of the needs are satisfied subconsciously only. Nature and universe until the evolution of self-awareness or voluntary consciousness in humans have managed all their affairs subconsciously only. Voluntary Consciousness or self-awareness is only a minute fraction of whole of consciousness that permeates this universe. No doubt that voluntary consciousness is the highest level in the natural hierarchy of consciousness. It not only makes consciousness aware of itself but also allows action at a distance to its bearers.

Universal instincts assisted by consciousness actively and aggressively work to attain their ends and this motivational drive has been variously described by others including Sigmund Freud as libido or energy presumably because this is what gets the things done. However it is a misconception to call it as energy, since it is not the same as energy as understood in Physics. What we may call as libido directs utilization of energy for various ends but is not energy in itself.

So, our motivations, dreams, fantasies, idiosyncrasies, personal preferences, whims and fancies, actions are principally determined, directed and managed by subconscious. We have only a minimal control on our own actions. Prudence and pragmatism is a state of mind and its resultant action where our actions are grounded in comprehensive reality whether internal or external. A prudent and pragmatic mind is amenable to reason. Therefore in a prudent and pragmatic state of mind, role of unrealistic elements in driving our action is adequately regulated leading to a state of harmonious existence and optimum utilization of our resources. But a sick mind may refuse to see reason.

An individual has to cope with conflicts and contradictions all the time since conflicts and contradictions are inbuilt in nature. Inherent conflicts and contradictions often demand intellectual resolution either subconsciously or at the level of self-awareness. Therefore for any individual, existence is the result of a dynamic equilibrium. Nothing exists in a state of static equilibrium. This dynamic equilibrium demands perpetual management to keep existence, to maintain peace and tranquility and to keep body, mind and soul harmony.

Different individuals show differing sensitivity, predisposition and resilience to different disequilibrating factors (mental stresses). Individual's sensitivity to a particular factor may vary from being hypersensitive to insensitive. This sensitivity can be altered by mental training. Sensitivity and response to various disturbing factors is conditioned not only by universal instincts but also by innate personality, cumulative experiences and other material factors influencing behavioral, emotional and intellectual responses.

A particular behavior may be normal in one set of circumstances but not so in another set of circumstances. Therefore, various behavioral responses require context dependent interpretation. Hence, at times line of distinction between mentally healthy and mentally ill is exceedingly thin and its identification is dependent upon subjective experience of the observer.

Normally, in accordance with universal instinct to exist (Sigmund Freud described this as instinct to life) mind tries to keep its dynamic equilibrium or Zero state but if the mental stress far exceeds the ability of mind to cope, a mental breakdown occurs and mental illness is precipitated. Same mental stress can precipitate different mental illnesses in different individuals. Once mental breakdown occurs, it may lead to a vicious cycle leading to progressive deterioration of mental state. In a sick mental state, mind may refuse to see reason.

In coping with mental stress two options are generally available.

In repression the conflict is buried deep inside the psyche without any effective resolution. It acts as a time bomb waiting to explode. Sigmund Freud identified underlying repression as the reason behind most of mental illnesses involving sudden outburst of repressed emotions. He particularly emphasized significance of repressed sexuality as the cause of most of mental illnesses. However this is not completely correct. All types of deprivations and repressed emotions can precipitate mental illnesses.

The other option involves resetting or shifting or modifying the fulcrum or the state of dynamic equilibrium so that the individual is able to keep his dynamic equilibrium despite existence of mental stresses in the environment. This can be further improved by mental training. Often a proper understanding of mental stresses helps and this is precisely the reason for effectiveness of Freud's Psychoanalysis.

Armed with improved understanding of mental stresses, mind in line with universal instinct to exist tries to restore its dynamic equilibrium. Therefore with in any individual, there will always be compensated mental stresses that shape personality of the individual. But uncompensated mental stresses in a state of repression can precipitate mental illnesses any time.

Sigmund Freud has been wrong in laying undue emphasis upon sex as the principal cause of repression. Any unsatisfied, uncompensated demand can be a cause of repression. Hence reasons for mental illnesses may be as wide and varied as human wants and desires.

Summing up, mental illnesses may be viewed as the result of failure of normal compensating mechanisms concerned with maintenance of mind's state of dynamic equilibrium leading to a vicious cycle which can often be broken by various therapeutic interventions.

Health and Fitness, Vitamin A

Hello there,

Are you taking vitamins for granted? Do you know if your body is crying out for a particular vitamin?

Maybe it's time that you take a look at the different types of vitamins and the effect that the lack of anyone of them may have on the body.

To start with, let's have a closer look at vitamin A. We can also look at the source of this vitamin or find out from which foods it can be obtained.

Vitamin A deals with the growth, maturity and proper functioning of the body; both internally and externally. You may guess then, that it has a very important role to play in the in the diet of pregnant women and the development of children. This vitamin is also required throughout life.

Vitamin A is needed for the "epithelial tissue/cells." This tissue forms a major part in the body. It covers the lining of the internal and external surfaces of the body-the skin.

Besides providing an internal and external protective shield or covering for the body, the epithelial cells, produce mucus which keeps the nasal passages, lungs and intestines from drying.

Some other parts of the body involving the epithelial tissue are the interior of the mouth, the stomach and the membranes of the lungs and kidneys. Keep in mind that Vitamin A is required for the proper function of these body parts.

When there is a deficiency of vitamin A, the body system is unable to trigger off many vital activities. The nervous system begins to function poorly. Moreover, sterility may result; and the offspring born during this time, could be a poor specimen. By the way, some authorities on health say, that night blindness is a sign of the lack of Vitamin A.

Some sources of Vitamin A are:

Milk; butter; eggs; herring; and cod liver oil.

Carrots and fresh green vegetables are also sources of Vitamin A.

Of course, Vitamin A is only one of the vital requirements of the body system. However it is very important that we make every effort to take good care of our bodies in the light of what we really know about it.

The truth is, generally speaking, we do not know a lot about our bodies-even though research has enlightened and help us very much in the past and even in the present.

The body is a very complex human machine. But what is good for Harry, may not necessary be good for Jack- except in the cases of basic human requirements that is common to all.

It is easier and less expensive to pay attention to the needs of our bodies. We cannot allow its systems to break down and then try to effect repairs: prevention is still better than cure.

Nevertheless, in spite of our care, there may still be problems with the body for one reason or the other. But at least we will be able to rest comfortably in the fact, that we did what we could; and did not ignore nor neglect it when it asked us for help.

Indeed we have only one body and we need to treat it with the utmost respect and care.Remember our bodies are divinely created. Meanwhile, we can check and see if it's lacking in Vitamin A

... primary interest-christian matters; writing; health matters... also has an interest in emarketing.

Gemstones and Crystals For Your Well-Being

Most of us live in the HSFL (the High Stress Fast Lane) multi-tasking furiously, leaving little if no time to nourish the Self. We run in late to yoga and run out before Savansana, the best part! We whittle our thumbs away on our smartphones and swig down our cafe-latte-mocha-choka from Starbucks. After running, rushing, organizing, and planning, we crawl into bed spent but can't sleep. We want to meditate and center but we just don't have the time-can't focus-can't shut down the thoughts-can't-JUST CAN'T. We really want to connect to and with ourselves but how? Enter gemstones, those trinkets that adorn the jewelry we so love, well those trinkets have power!

Many of us are so captivated by them for their intense beauty but are totally unaware of how valuable they actually are. And I'm not talking about Diamonds, Emeralds, or Rubies but any gemstone is loaded with juicy properties we all can benefit from. There are stones for protection, stones for will-power, stones for courage, and to increase the mind's clarity. Stones to assist with energy, either to calm you down or to give you a boost. And you don't have to have psychic superpowers to pick up on the stone's energy, being in your airspace does the trick. These jewels have been used for centuries for their calming, balancing, clearing, healing and protective properties. I am using Selenite to ease the pain of a pinched sciatic nerve and it's doing a pretty darn good job! One of its noted properties is its formidable healing energy.

Let's say you've been wanting to meditate but it's a bust. Here's an exercise to get started. I invite you to purchase an uncut polished stone, not the perfect cabochons or faceted stones that are used in fine jewelry. Make sure it is one you are absolutely drawn to. If you find out the name cool, but what's most important is your 'connection' to it. Find a relatively quiet place and begin to explore your new friend by checking out its physical properties. Observe the color and shading, note the shape and slowly inspect all of its sides. Feel the weight of it in your hand and become aware of your breath as it begins to slow down and deepen. Rub your finger(s) over the surface and if it's transparent, gaze INTO it.

Notice how it plays with the light and are there any rainbows in it? Use your imagination and play for a moment, suspending the sceptical adult mind and let your inner child reign. After your exploration is complete, close your eyes breathing evenly. When you're ready open them and VOILA! you have just meditated! And that didn't take long at all nor did you have to fold yourself up into a pretzel. Hopefully you felt calm at least for those moments and came out refreshed. That is one of the many ways to benefit from gemstones and crystals. If you tune in, peace is yours.

Jacquie Bird writes A Bird Blogs About Gems, where she talks about the magnificent properties of gemstones and the Gems of Life www.silkwirejewelry.blogspot.com.

She also creates SilkWire Jewelry, handcrafted, unique original jewelry designs of silk yarn over copper wire, adorned with gemstones for their beauty, healing, balancing, clarifying, and grounding powers www.silkwirejewelry.com. 7 Ways to Love Yourself

As human beings, we all have needs, needs such as care, affection, respect and especially love. We all want to be loved and most people spend a great amount of time waiting to be loved. Yet they wonder why it almost never comes their way. If it did, often times it leads to heartbreak. Waiting to receive love from others is not how the world works. To be able to receive love one must become lovable at first. And to become lovable one must know how to love themselves. This article will show you seven ways to love yourself.

1. Don't compare yourself to others. Comparing ourselves to others sometimes cannot be avoided. When we see someone who is more blessed we tend to wish that we could have the same things. This is good but only if you're seeking motivation so you can become better. But for some it leads to self-loathing or self-pity. If it leads to that then it would be really hard to love yourself. Only when you stop comparing yourself to others is the only way you can start loving yourself.

2. Stop seeking approval. We all seek approval from others especially from our family, friends and partner. It helps us decide on important matters and it is a good source of support. The only problem with constantly seeking for approval is that your decisions will always depend on others. That's not going to get you a lot of self-respect and you will end up miserable. When you need to decide on something such as a career change or something else that will change your life it is wise to seek advice from others but let go of the process of seeking approval. Just do it and be happy.

3. Believe that you can do it. It's really hard to love yourself if you don't believe that you can make things possible. Stop doubting yourself and gather the courage and confidence that you need if you want to achieve something. If you believe in yourself then you can do things that you thought was impossible. Life will become easier and well lived. In turn you will respect and love yourself.

4. Connect with yourself. Take some time to connect with your inner self. Find some alone time to reflect, feel what's in your heart and explore the contents of your mind. Meditation is one of the best ways. This will help you identify your weaknesses and the things that are preventing you to love yourself so you can change it. It will also help you find your strengths and realize the things that are admirable and loveable about you. Once you've found these things, keep it and nourish it.

5. Take care of yourself. Loving yourself means taking care of your body and wellbeing. Always make sure that you're in top shape by exercising every day and eating healthy. Get rid of the things that can destroy you such as vices and unhealthy habits. Nourish your mind, body, and spirit. If you feel good about yourself, you will love yourself.

6. Do good unto others. As a person made in the image and likeness of God, we are capable of doing great and good things. And that is what we should be doing. When you do something good to others how does it feel? It feels good right? You feel great. Knowing that you have goodness in you that show through your actions will grant you self-worth. If you have self-worth then you are one step closer to loving yourself.

7. Express your love. When we love someone, we do our best to express it through means of thoughtfulness, gifts, and care. If you want to love yourself then do the same. Express to yourself that you love yourself. Look at the mirror and tell yourself that you are loved. Write down a list of things that you love about yourself. Post positive statements such as "I am beautiful," "I am smart," or "I'm lovable," on some places that you see every day. Pamper yourself or buy yourself gifts. Constantly remind yourself that you are loved.

Love is a wonderful thing and sharing love is even greater. But the truth is it's hard to share something that you do not have. In order to love others, you must love yourself first in abundance. When you are already overflowing with love then that's the time that you can share and exchange love with another.

"You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy."

Do you love yourself? What do you do to love yourself? Share your thoughts by writing it below.

The Mind Also Matters in Healthy Living

Healthy living is not only about tucking into fresh fruits and vegetables, steering clear of junk and processed foods, and hitting the gym every other day. It is also about cultivating a healthy mind. In fact, healthy living starts with a healthy mind.

Get Your Mind Right

Everyone who has ever tried to stick to a diet plan or an exercise regimen will vouch for the truth of the age-old adage that the mind indeed rules over the body. The tenets of healthy living are simple-eat healthy, exercise regularly, and steer clear of vices like smoking and drinking-and there are not many who do not know these. But there are countless many who do not have minds strong enough to coax their body into abiding by these rules.

So, here are some rules that will help you win the mind game:

Don't let the weighing scale rule you. Losing weight and maintain your ideal body weight are usually the two most important goals of healthy living. But this does not mean that you should let the weighing scale stress you out. Instead attune yourself to the signals that your body sends out-do you feel fresh when you get up in the morning, have your energy levels got a boost after you have switched to a new workout routine, or do you find yourself craving less for sugary snacks after embarking on a new diet plan-and gauge for yourself your health and fitness levels.

Find a way, other than going on an eating binge, to cope with stress. Stress is an inevitable part of our daily lives so it really does not help your healthy living goals if your way of coping with it is to reach out for food. There are countless other ways of coping with stress-talk to a friend when down in the dumps, count your blessings when feeling depressed, or pick up a good read, put on some music that you love, or go for a walk in the park when feeling anxious. These are your ways of training your mind to seek refuge in something other than food.

Egg yourself on. You can be your best motivator; you just need to know how. To not fall short on your motivation levels, first make sure that you are striving for realistic goals-"I will fit into my old jeans by the end of two months" and NOT "I will lose ten pounds 4 days." Then look for small signs of improvement as you make your way along. For instance, if at the end of two months you find yourself barely managing to squeeze into the pair of jeans, do not mope but instead convince yourself that you are along the right track and if you keep up with the good habits, you will reach your goal in no time at all.

Positive and Rational

Healthy living is all about creating a positive mindset-being optimistic when the odds are low and being strong enough to listen to and steer your body towards healthy living goals that suit you and not what the book says.

Glycomics Open End Research Rapidly Growing

Here's a step toward cutting healthcare costs a trillion dollars a year. One step is to reduce wasteful spending on expensive unnecessary drugs, especially drugs that may keep you sick or kill you and simply masks symptoms.

Open end and transparent glycomics research strengthens the validity of the science. Peer reviewed studies are offering overwhelming credibility. Communication to the public is hastened by instant world wide access which makes it easier to confirm truth and reveal deception.

Rapidly expanding the glycomics database is ongoing research data. At the moment of my writing this lesson, there are 548,966 references to the word glycoprotein and 41,942 references to glycolipid in the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health on their website.

The remarkable functional sugars, which I call Smart Sugars, include the sugars that are the building blocks for glycoproteins, glycolipids, and the double-helix backbone structure of the DNA. These sugars include but may not be limited to: mannose, trehalose, fucose, galactose, ribose, xylose, glucose, N-acetylgalactosamine, N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetylneuraminic acid, L-rhamnose, and. I will deal with other Royal Sugars later.

As of this writing, there are 492,134 combined references to published papers concerning research with these Royal Sugars: Mannose = 24,020; trehalose = 4,842; fucose = 8,843; galactose = 30,183; Ribose = 23,817; xylose = 9,243; glucose, = 370,062; N-acetylgalactosamine = 3,724; L-Rhamnose = 926; N-acetylglucosamine = 10,380; and N-acetylneuraminic acid = 6,094.

Universities and governments around the world are creating mountains of available open end data. These are exciting times where more science information is at our fingertips than ever before in history. Making billions of dollars worth of research information publicly available for us and others to utilize enables us to take research to the next level. We are actually discovering causes and cures instead of just treating symptoms.

Mining the data by scanning various research projects and then connecting the dots creates the ability for us to accomplish forward motion at lightening speed compared to research progress of yesteryear.

Like all knowledge, it can be used for right or it can become corrupted. Having the availability of this vast knowledge is great but it is necessary to know how to mine it and use it. It's value will be determined by how well we know how to connect the dots.

Even if the open end digital information is technically available, it is not transparent to most people. It is invisible. The majority of people may be intimidated and discouraged with the giant mountain of data. However, those who would manipulate the masses with false data will also become more intimidated with transparent truth.

An example of transparent truth is when evidence based results are placed along side deception even though that deception is widely accepted and often repeated. Stomach ulcers and acid reflux symptoms are treated each year with Billions of dollars of antihistamines that block the natural production of vital stomach acids. The truth is stomach ulcers are caused by the unique bacterium, Helicobacter pylori. A good immune system and digestive system will kill that bug. Furthermore, acid reflux may be caused when you are not properly digesting food. You don't solve a digestive problem by reducing stomach acids. Furthermore, genetic changes in the bacteria cause antibiotics to become less effective. Probiotics may be the answer. Studies show that antihistamines weaken the immune system. They are dream drugs that keep on taking billions of dollars. Some things are just backwards and expensive.

Evidence based results is the marker for good health. Use whatever achieves the best results! Let us look at drugs, phytonutrients, and Royal Sugars. If A + B + C = Best Results, so be it. If B + C = Best Results, go with that. If we are to resolve the healthcare crisis, we must focus on what works best and not what markets best. The public is tired of deception. Truth with results should be our quest.

JC Spencer has invested two decades in the research and study of glycomics, the science of sugars. He is CEO of The Endowment for Medical Research, Inc endowmentmed.org References from the textbook Expand Your Mind - Improve Your Brain and the ebook and Change Your Sugar, Change Your Life. The book, Change Your Sugar, Change Your Life is downloadable without charge at www.DiabeticHope.com.
