No matter what your situation is, at some point in time you will be in need of some motivation or inspiration to move forward. It is absolutely inevitable for you to make it through life without the help of others, but where should you look? There are billions of people in this world, which ones should you look to for motivation? Who are the good role models?
There are many things to consider when looking for motivation. Is the person you are looking at in good standing? Do they have good morals and virtues? If yes, then they are probably a good start for your list. It also helps if you have a personal connection with the person, maybe something deeper than a casual greeting every now and then. What I mean is, look at people that you see every day, people like your family and friends. These are the people who will be the most effective as a source of motivation.
People like your parents or brothers and sisters are great motivators. Or maybe some one in your family is the creator of a new charity, they would be a great role model and someone to motivate you to also do well like them.
Maybe you have a successful uncle who made it big in the stock market, you should be talking to him trying to suck up as much knowledge as you can. You should take his success as a motivator and follow in his footsteps. Following a family member is one of the easiest things to do usually, because they are more than welcome to share some knowledge with another family member.
Also, if you are an athlete looking for motivation, look at some of the members of the older generation of your sport. For example, if you are a swimmer, you could look up to Michael Phelps or Mark Spitz, both of which were amazing athletes. Or you could look up to Ryan Lochte who is an up-and-comer challenging and sometimes beating Phelps.
If you take part in another sport, you should look for an athlete from your sport if you please. Basketball players could look up to some of the greats like Michael Jordan or LeBron James.
It really does not matter who you choose as your role model, it is as long as they help you accomplish your goal. It does not matter if they physically help you or just give you the motivation to complete whatever it is. The hardest part sometimes can be finding a motive, so look in these places next time you are stuck in a sticky situation.
